This winter we will be heading to the warm waters of the Wind Force racing camp in Cyprus. We will race on Fareast 28R class sports yachts. Sixteen crews, your favourite coaches and experienced judges, racing, parties and of course the awards. The camp is suitable for people with absolutely no experience, even zero.
Cyprus is a great place for exciting sailing races, it is warm enough in winter and the wind blows well. This time we will have a monofleet of well prepared Fareast 28R yachts with gennakers, a qualified judging panel and a trophy for the winner — ideal conditions for a great sporting regatta.
Every day we will be out on the water learning and competing, gaining new skills and knowledge, competing and building friendships with like-minded people. In the evenings we will get together for club events, sorting out mistakes and sharing our impressions of the day. We will divide all riders into two large groups: some will train in the morning, others in the afternoon.
Our camp is designed for all levels of rider: you can come alone, with no crew, with no experience, or with both. Beginners will be accompanied by a coach who will teach them everything they need to know for serious racing.
The special thing about this camp is that there is more racing, which means more emotions, strong competitors, controversial situations and the unique sailing experience that is best gained in racing.
Why Cyprus
Racing conditions
In winter and spring, the wind blows almost constantly along the coast, so there is nothing to stop us from racing at our leisure, just like in international sports regattas.
Visa regulations
Getting a visa for Cyprus is easy and relatively quick. There are currently no direct flights to Cyprus, but there are convenient connections from Yerevan.
Cool weather
In January the temperature can reach +17−19, so as well as racing, you can teleport yourself into summer.
What yachts do we race
The Fareast 28R is an international class of keelboat racing yacht that has gained popularity in Europe, China and the USA.
Designed for a crew of three to six, it is equipped with a jib, mainsail, genaker and a range of equipment for fine-tuning these sails.
Among other things, Fareast 28R is a very seaworthy boat, on which you can feel the yacht on the waves, adapt to racing in offshore conditions and get a new experience not similar to the usual Russian racing waters.

Things to do in the city
Walking around Limassol
Limassol is a true city of knights. It was here that the conquest of Cyprus by the Crusaders led by Richard the Lionheart began. Visit the old town, Limassol Castle, the street art district, Molos Promenade and Kolossi Castle. Watch the sun set over the ruins of the old town. The ancient city of Kourion is a well-preserved ancient city on the outskirts of Limassol: amphitheatre, marble columns of the forum, mosaic floors of palaces. We have listed all the most interesting places in our city guide.
Visit a winery
Cyprus is, among other things, a great place to explore the culture of wine, to which we wholeheartedly recommend dedicating one of your evenings. Although the list in this guide might spoil your results at the races.
What they say about the sailing camp
Until a week ago, I had never considered that sailing yachts could sail against the wind and thought the keel was something on the mast 🙃 . And although I now know that this is not the case, it will probably not be of much use to me in everyday life 🤷🏻♀️
However, there is one thing that will definitely come in handy!
Understanding what it means to give yourself completely to what you love to do, how to work on the principle of "bringing everyone to the result", how to train so that people want to come back to you again and again.
The amazing thing is that once you start to focus on these things, life immediately brings you people to learn from, people whose example you can learn from!

I didn t even think that a five-day sailing training programme with Force of Wind would turn into such a whirlwind of events that I still can t let go 💙 When you learn new things, your brain is incredibly reorganised, all work and personal issues are forgotten and you re really relaxed. It was the same with the training in the sea: I was looking at witches and water, water and witches. I fell in love with all these "bring in, pile up, start the turn forward, move to leventic" ❤️🔥💙 And when you meet people who, no matter how sweet it sounds in context, are on the same wave, then you get the most juice and high. After all, all emotions are given to us by people! And Power of the Wind has gathered such people that it is impossible to convey! What we did on the water, on land and in the mountains! Real happiness! Thank you so much!

Sport sailing is a completely different experience from cruising. Wind, waves and never a moment of peace. Constantly watching for the slightest changes in course, fine-tuning the sails, endless turns. Gain height and close the wind to your opponents. Blue flag, three minutes to go. Rounding the mark, it’s time for the gennaker!
It turns out that you can go to camp at 30. The year started with discoveries and the first thing I tried to discover was myself. Thank you very much!

What happened to us these days is a story for a film! The drama was so dramatic that symbols would not suffice to describe it. There was a sea of new people, united by the same interests, with whom we got acquainted for a short time (we remembered not only each other’s names), but became a team! And that is what it is all about, the people. Thank you, people 🍾

Popular questions
QUESTIONS DEPARTMENT:
Sounds great. Is it OK if I have no sailing experience?
ANSWER DEPARTMENT:
Of course you can. We always welcome newcomers, we want to attract new people to sailing and we will teach you everything if you want.
QUESTIONS DEPARTMENT:
Do you get seasick on the boat?
ANSWER DEPARTMENT:
We spend several hours at a time on sports yachts — very few people can get seasick during that time. So you don’t have to worry about it.
QUESTIONS DEPARTMENT:
Where will I sleep? On the boat or in hotels?
ANSWER DEPARTMENT:
We will be staying in hotels or apartments. In our sports camp we race on Fareast 28R class sports yachts. In general, sports yachts do not include accommodation — they have a minimum of everything to make the boat faster.
QUESTIONS DEPARTMENT:
Will there be time for rest and sightseeing?
ANSWER DEPARTMENT:
Yes, of course. We will divide all participants into two large groups, half the day you will train and race, the rest of the day you can rest and sightsee.
QUESTIONS DEPARTMENT:
What should I take with me?
ANSWER DEPARTMENT:
Just email us and we will send you a detailed memo on clothing for your water area.
