Turkey Holidays.
The two seas of Marmaris

SEPTEMBER - APRIL

7 days of adventure at the junction of the Aegean and the Mediterranean.

Continuing to fall in love with Turkey, we set off to explore the Marmaris region, which sits at the junction of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. We’ll see how the waters merge and explore them from different angles.
It’s incredibly easy: you don’t need a visa for Turkey, no special training or sailing experience is required. All visa restrictions are lifted and you can take a bus or taxi from the airport to the marina. It’s best to arrive at Dalaman airport, which you can even do on the day of your adventure. Don’t worry if you arrive a little later than the scheduled check-in time on the boat, as the trip is scheduled for the morning of the second day. The adventure starts and finishes at Marmaris Adakey Marina.

What to expect on the route:

the most beautiful and secluded marina in bustling Marmaris;
the sandy beaches of Ciftlik;
unique views (including the Greek island of Simi);
the wineries and almond trees of Datchi;
a walk through the ruins of Bozukkale Fortress;
dinner at a restaurant that inspires greatness (Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos have dined there).

Why Turkey

  • A completely different country
    Even if you’ve been to Turkey before, you’ll find yourself in a completely different country on a yacht. Our itinerary is far from the resorts and all-inclusives that many people associate with Turkey. With us you will finally be able to enjoy quiet bays and small crowded cafes.
  • Wildlife
    Turkey’s nature is breathtaking: pine trees mingle with palm trees and cliffs can be mistaken for ancient ruins submerged in the sea. The sea is so clear you can see the bottom and fish far below. And from a yacht you can see dolphins and sea turtles in their natural habitat.
  • No visa required

    Russian citizens do not need a visa to travel to Turkey — it is much easier to decide to travel. Add to that cheap flights and low food prices in the country — all in all, we think it’s a great format for a relaxing holiday.

Itinerary

The final itinerary depends on the weather
The weather at sea is unpredictable: calm and clear skies can turn into a storm in a matter of hours. It is the captain’s duty to monitor the weather and assess the risks. If the risk is high, the captain has the right to change the route or not sail at all until the weather improves.

12 miles (2 hours) — parking at the pier.

We enter a bay with crystal clear waters and stop on a sandy beach to view the rocky mountains and a charming private island.
Day 2. Ciftlik
30 miles (5 hours) — Mooring at the anchorage or on the pier near the restaurant.

Dedicate the day to immersion — in history and in the water! We’ll snorkel and see the wrecked pier in detail. If you wish, you can explore the nearby hills off the beaten track and view the island of Symi from the mountain heights.
Day 3. Aguil Coyu
18 miles (3 hours) — Mooring at the pier.

We move into the harbour which is sheltered from all winds. Bozburun is famous for its shipyards where wooden gulets, traditional Mediterranean vessels, are built.
Day 5. Bozburun
"Marmaris" translates from ancient Greek as "Pearl of the Sea" and we plan to find evidence of this. We will do some shopping, walk around the town and after lunch we will check in to the boat at Marmaris Adakey Marina.
Day 1: Marmaris
13 miles (2 hours) — Mooring at the pier.

The fortress of Bozuccale was of great strategic importance in ancient times as a military base and for the safety of ships carrying cargo between the mainland and the island of Rhodes. We climb into the mountains to explore its ruins.
Day 6. Bozuccale
Crossing 25 miles (4 hours).

Return to Marmaris Adakey Marina, check off the yacht at 09:00 on Saturday.
Day 7. Marmaris
15 miles (2.5 hours) — mooring at the marina.

Datcha is one of the main holiday resorts for the local Turks. So it is very peaceful and quiet — we take advantage of this and have a leisurely day.
Day 4. Datcha
After payment has been received you will be given detailed instructions on how to meet the crew, who to call locally, what exactly to take with you on the trip (and what is optional) and generally what to prepare for.

How much it costs

To book a place on the boat you can pay 50% and the rest at least one month before the trip. Please note that paying in instalments will increase the cost of the trip by 5%. Costs for different dates may vary.

What they say about sailing with SV Agent
We're often asked
Questions department:
Sounds great. Is it okay if I have no sailing experience?
Answer Department:
Sure, we always welcome newcomers, we want to bring new people into sailing and we will teach you everything if you want.
Questions department:
Will you let me sail the boat?
Answer Department:
Yes, and you are very welcome to do so. You will be accompanied by a professional skipper who will teach you the basics of sailing and you will be able to take an active part in the management of the boat: setting and managing the sails, steering and assisting with mooring.
Questions department:
What if I just want to relax and do nothing?
Answer Department:
You can rely on our captain and only join in when you need to: for example, when mooring, setting sails, cleaning or preparing dinner. The rest of the time you can relax and enjoy the view.
Questions department:
Where will I sleep? On the boat or in hotels?
Answer Department:
We live on the boat. The boat has three comfortable double cabins with a bunk bed and one "placemat" cabin (two shelves on top of each other). Each cabin also has a small wardrobe for storing clothes and closed niches for bags.
Questions department:
What will we eat?
Answer Department:
On the first day, we do a general shopping trip according to the list agreed upon beforehand with all participants. We divide up the tasks (usually once or twice a week) and prepare simple breakfasts and lunches on the boat, with dinners usually taken in restaurants at anchorages.
Questions department:
How much time will I spend at sea? Will I have time to see the sights?
Answer Department:
When travelling we try to keep a balance between sea and land. On average, the yacht part of the trip will be 3−6 hours a day, so there will be plenty of time to walk, swim, sunbathe and plenty of time for sightseeing.
Questions department:
Do you get seasick on the boat?
Answer Department:
Statistically, 90% of people are susceptible to motion sickness. However, we will only sail in calm waters and will not go out to sea during a storm. Most people can tolerate a slight rocking motion, and taking motion sickness pills will remove the unpleasant sensations completely. In addition, the body adjusts within 2−3 days, "pumps up", and pills are not needed at all.
Questions department:
What should I take with me?
Answer Department:
Write to us and we will send you a detailed memo on clothing for your water zone. No complicated equipment is required.
Questions department:
How and where do I meet the crew and captain?
Answer Department:
Before each trip we organise a meeting (online) where we introduce each other and the captain, answer questions, discuss the programme and all the details. We will set up a chat room for your team to get to know each other in absentia. We will then meet on site at the marina.
Questions department:
How do I calculate the cost of food?
Answer Department:
Our practice is to spend around 200−300 euros per person per week. This includes parking, fuel and food for the crew and captain. We do the shopping for everyone on the first day of the adventure and sometimes buy a little extra.
